“The 19th District Internship has been one of the most eye-opening and rewarding experiences for me. It is the perfect way to experience and understand what it really means to be a public servant and what the United States government is actually comprised of. Many college students learn about the United States Government through history and civics classes – most of which do not highlight how important the constituent side of the government really is.  Congressman Todd Platts and his staff are truly dedicated to helping the constituents of the 19th District. This internship has allowed me to work directly with individuals as well as federal agencies and community agencies and groups to develop invaluable skills in public service that I will surely use in my future endeavors. I consider myself very lucky to have been chosen for this internship and to have the opportunity to work in the York office as well as the D.C. office.  Thank you to the 19th District Internship Association for giving me a once-in-a-lifetime experience.”
